Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using WattLab ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Continued use of the Service after any changes to the terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Service Description

WattLab is a web application that allows cyclists to calculate power-based pacing strategies, carbohydrate nutrition plans and manage calculation history. The service is offered in three plans: Free, Base (€3.99/month) and Pro (€5.99/month).

3. User Account

  • Registration requires a valid email address or a Google account.
  • The user is responsible for the security of their login credentials.
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent Free plan limits is prohibited.
  • Users must be at least 16 years old.

4. Plans and Subscriptions

  • Free Plan: 1 calculation per week, summary results, no history.
  • Base Plan (€3.99/month or €39.90/year): 5 calculations per week, full detail, last 30 calculations history, Strava integration.
  • Pro Plan (€5.99/month or €59.90/year): unlimited calculations, unlimited history, detailed carbohydrates, GPX archive.

Prices are in Euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. Prices may be changed with 30 days' notice.

5. Payments and Billing

  • Payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. in a secure and PCI DSS compliant manner.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe portal.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No refunds are provided for partial periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent plan limits (rate limiting, feature gating).
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software.
  • Use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
  • Share login credentials with third parties.
  • Overload the service with excessive automated requests.
  • Upload malicious or tampered files.

7. Intellectual Property

The WattLab software, including calculation algorithms, user interface, design and documentation, is owned by WattLab. Data uploaded by the user (GPX files, athlete parameters) remains the property of the user. The user grants WattLab a limited license to process such data for the sole purpose of providing the Service.

8. Third-Party Platform Integrations

WattLab integrates with Strava and potentially other platforms via OAuth APIs. The user explicitly authorizes access to their data on such platforms. WattLab is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Strava, Garmin or other third-party platforms. The user can revoke access at any time from the Profile page.

9. Limitation of Liability

WattLab provides estimates and suggestions based on mathematical models. Results do not constitute professional medical, nutritional or sports advice. The user uses results at their own risk and responsibility. WattLab is not liable for injuries, health issues or athletic performance resulting from use of the Service. We recommend consulting a qualified professional before modifying your training or nutrition strategy.

10. Service Availability

WattLab strives to keep the Service available, but does not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates or force majeure. No SLA (Service Level Agreement) is provided for any plan.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

  • You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page.
  • Deleting your account results in the loss of all associated data (calculation history, GPX files, preferences).
  • WattLab reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the court of the consumer's place of residence, pursuant to the Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).

13. Changes to Terms

WattLab reserves the right to modify these terms. Changes will be communicated with reasonable notice via email and/or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
